The woman that I purchased this for is from Lebanon and she informed me that the dialect of arabic that is used is very old and “formal” so it is quite difficult to use for her.

Customer Review: Mediocre at best
I bought this product for a young relative of mine. I did not even bother send it to her and actually returned it after a couple of days of trying it out. The product itself is very flimsy and not intuitive to use, but what really made me return it is the “speaking” part. If you are lucky to find a work that the machine will actually speak out, the sound quality of the voice is absolutely horrible. I had my wife sitting right next to me and I asked her to try to identify some of the words I had the machine speak out, she could not guess even one of them. Also, the actual definitions that come out for some of the words are really bad. Over all, it’s not worth the money.

This is a good product. One drawback is that the font is too small and I am buying this for my Mom. The english and french prononciation are very precise and clear. But the Vietnamese pnonciation is a little hard to understand. When we enter a Vietnamese word, it has to be the exact word that they have/translate in the Vietnamese dictionary to be able to translate to English/French. Otherwise, the translation will not take place. Overall, it is a very good product.

It’s not the best you can get but if ur not looking for a ton of features, just a simple Viet-Eng Trans well this is the one for you. Very convienient and compact for travel. Definitely a smart buy for those taking on the Vietnamese or English language.
